Kentville Marlins Summer Swim Club
Season Dates: June 29 – August 21, 2026
Join the Kentville Marlins this summer and discover the excitement of competitive swimming! Whether your swimmer is just beginning their journey in the water or is striving to qualify for Provincial Championships, we offer a program designed to meet them where they are and help them grow.
Throughout the summer, swimmers have the opportunity to attend swim meets across Nova Scotia, improve their technique, build confidence, make friends, and achieve personal best performances. Participation in swim meets is encouraged but not required.
Provincial Championships will be held the weekend of August 15–16, 2026, and swimmers who achieve qualifying times throughout the summer season may be eligible to attend.

Mini Marlins 1 (Capped at 16 Swimmers)
Learn to Train
Ages: 5–8
Mini Marlins 1 is designed for young swimmers who are comfortable in the water and ready to learn the foundations of competitive swimming. The focus is on building confidence, proper body position, breathing, floating, and introducing the basic skills of competitive swimming.
Requirements
Swim 10–15 metres independently (without flotation devices or physical assistance)
Comfortable putting face in the water
Able to float on front and back
Comfortable in deep water
Knows the basics of freestyle (front crawl) and backstroke (back crawl)
Swim Lesson Equivalent: Swim for Life Swimmer 1–2
Practice Schedule
Monday, Wednesday: 4:00 PM – 4:45 PM
Friday: 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM

Mini Marlins 2 (Capped at 20 Swimmers)
Train to Swim
Ages: 7–10
Mini Marlins 2 is for swimmers who have developed basic swimming skills and are ready to improve technique, endurance, and competitive swimming fundamentals. Swimmers will begin learning starts, turns, lane etiquette, and additional competitive strokes.
Requirements
Able to swim 25 metres continuously
Comfortable swimming in deep water
Has established freestyle and backstroke technique
Able to tread water
Ready for instructional endurance swimming
Swim Lesson Equivalent: Swim for Life Swimmer 5 and above

Junior Marlins
Train to Compete
Ages: 7–13
Junior Marlins is for swimmers who are ready to develop competitive swimming skills. Athletes will refine all four strokes, improve endurance, learn racing skills, and build the training habits needed for competitive success.
Requirements
Swim 50 metres of freestyle (front crawl) with legal technique
Swim 50 metres of backstroke (back crawl) with legal technique
Understand the basics of breaststroke and butterfly
Have the endurance to swim multiple lengths continuously
Able to follow coach instructions and complete structured practices

Senior Marlins
Train to Perform
Ages: 12+
Senior Marlins is our highest-level youth training group and is designed for swimmers committed to competitive performance and having fun. Swimmers focus on race strategy, leadership, advanced technique, sprinting, endurance, and achieving their competitive goals.
Requirements
Strong understanding of all four competitive strokes
Ability to complete challenging training sessions
Demonstrates maturity, commitment, and a strong work ethic

Afternoons
Monday–Friday: 4:00 PM – 5:30 PM
Morning Practices
Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 7:15 AM – 8:45 AM

Winter Swimming (Maintainance)
Maintain Your Training
This program is designed for swimmers who are currently registered with a year-round competitive swim club and wish to continue training with the Kentville Marlins during the summer months. It provides an opportunity to maintain fitness, technique, and conditioning while enjoying outdoor swimming and supplemental training opportunities.
Eligibility
Currently registered with a year-round competitive swim program
Looking to maintain training throughout the summer
Comfortable participating in structured swim practices
Important Information
Swimmers in this program are not eligible to compete at Kentville Marlins swim meets or represent the Kentville Marlins in competition.
This registration option is intended for training purposes only.
Practice Schedule
Participants may attend Junior or Senior Marlins practices as determined by the coaching staff.

Masters Marlins
Fitness • Technique • Community
Adults (18+)
Masters Marlins is designed for adults who enjoy swimming and want to improve their fitness, technique, and overall health in a supportive and social environment. Whether you’re a former competitive swimmer, triathlete, fitness swimmer, or simply looking for a great workout, there’s a place for you in the pool.
Participants may choose to join coached workouts or swim independently during designated lane swim times.

Family Discounts
Families registering multiple swimmers in Mini, Junior, or Senior Marlins programs are eligible for the following discounts:
2nd swimmer: $25 discount
3rd swimmer: $50 discount
4th swimmer: $75 discount
Family discounts do not apply to Masters Marlins registrations.
